NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Season 3 of the hit Apple TV+ show, “Loot” starring Maya Rudolph is about to premiere next week.

WGNO’s Kenny Lopez chatted with a few of the cast members about the new season and their connections to New Orleans.

“Loot” is worth a lot of laughs! This show follows recently divorced billionaire, Molly Wells played by Maya Rudolph and her friends who run her charitable foundation. Adventures ensue as they help her find her way.

“It’s really exciting to see these characters in environments that you haven’t got them in before,” said Joel Kim Booster who plays Nicholas on “Loot.”

“In season 3 it is about finding the balance or re-balancing so the friendship is outweighing the employee relationship and finding out what makes Nicholas happy,” he said.

Michaela Jae Rodriguez plays Sofia on “Loot.”

“I like how she’s opening up a little bit more. I like to see how the other characters rally around her, it’s a testament to what they’ve all built,” Rodriguez said.

Her character, Sofia visited New Orleans in Season 2 of “Loot” when she was dating a jazz player.

“I mean it does carry over a bit,” Rodriguez said.

“Loot” star, Maya Rudolph is no stranger to New Orleans. She gave the Tulane University Commencement speech back in 2015. Rudolph’s father, Richard Rudolph graduated from Tulane back in 1968.

The new season of “Loot” premieres on Apple TV+ on Oct. 15.
