The last year saw the loss of many celebrities in TV, movies and music, as well as internationally famous political figures. Here’s a reminder of some of the stars we have lost together with their career achievements.

Pope Francis (1936–2025) — Jorge Mario Bergoglio, beloved pontiff who redefined modern Catholic leadership with humility, inclusion, and global compassion, died at age 88. His advocacy for climate action, social justice, and interfaith dialogue transformed the papacy, earning admiration worldwide for his moral courage and steadfast devotion to the poor and marginalized.
