Stella Parton has always been her own woman. She’s unafraid to put her name on the line when a cause demanded it even as she stepped out from the considerable shadow of her famous older sister Dolly Parton. Now she’s back with upcoming music!
This morning Stella Parton made a Facebook post to announce that new music is finally on the way after she took a years-long, painful break from music. The message the country music maverick and outspoken activist paired with that announcement was anything but quiet.
“The past ten years have been filled with loss of loved ones and the total dismantling and brainwashing of our beloved country,” she wrote. Acknowledging that fans have urged her to stay out of politics, she pushed back firmly: “I felt and still feel I have every right and an obligation as a U.S. citizen to express my deepest feelings about what has been happening in our country.”
However, the headline, she noted, is the music itself. “I have mustered the focus to create some new music after seven years of grief and loss,” Parton shared, adding that she hoped it would “be a message to all of us to keep hope alive.”
Parton, the younger sister of country legend Dolly Parton, charted a series of singles during the mid- to late-1970s. She’s also collaborated with Dolly on several projects. Also, she has long been celebrated as a brave woman willing to speak her mind. More details on the new project are expected soon.
