Stephen A. Smith Slams Megan Thee Stallion Over Klay Thompson Split

Stephen A. Smith is expanding on his criticism of Megan Thee Stallion following her public breakup with Klay Thompson, questioning not just the situation itself, but why it was shared so openly.

Speaking on his Straight Shooter show, Smith reiterated that he has no interest in the details of their relationship, but took issue with how the split became a public conversation, specifically the cheating allegations.

“I don’t know what happened in their relationship. Don’t wanna know, ain’t none of my damn business and none of y’all’s either,” he said. “But Megan Thee Stallion made it so… Why? How come you just couldn’t break up and go on your merry way?”

Smith continued by arguing that personal matters should remain private, suggesting that even if wrongdoing occurred, it didn’t need to be aired publicly.

“How come you couldn’t just say, ‘We had our time together, but I’m back being single again’ and leave it at that?” he added. “Why we gotta dog the brother out? Is there a wedding that I missed?”

The ESPN personality also pointed out that Thompson has not publicly addressed the situation, raising the possibility of a different perspective.

“We ain’t heard from Klay,” Smith said. “What if Klay said it was you? What if Klay said that you was out there getting your freak on?”

He went further, criticizing what he described as a broader trend of public figures sharing relationship issues online.

“Why is this propensity existing to be talking, telling everybody your business?” he asked. “How is that any of our business? … If something go awry, you got to tell everybody?”

At one point, Smith sharpened his tone, saying, “These women just chirp, chirp, chirping all over the damn place.”

The reaction comes after Megan Thee Stallion announced her split from Thompson, and alleged infidelity before confirming through a representative that the relationship had ended, citing a lack of trust.

The fallout quickly spread online, pulling others into speculation, including WNBA star Lexie Brown, who publicly denied any involvement in the situation.
