Stranger Things actor Gaten Matarazzoisn’t just a young kid in Hawkins anymore.
The former child star recently posed for the cover of Basic Magazine, and it’s safe to say he’s come a long way since he landed his breakout role roughly 10 years ago.
Gaten Matarazzo Looks More ‘Sophisticated’ Than Ever in Hunky New Photo
Matarazzo’s new cover with Basic was uploaded to Instagram on Monday, October. 6, giving fans the first look at the stylish and hunky new photos of the 23-year-old actor.
For the cover shot, Matarazzo cleaned up in a spiffy plaid coat, worn over a crisp white collared shirt, khaki pants, and a sleek black leather tie.
The actor’s signature curly hair was nearly styled away from his face, safe for one curl that fell perfectly on his forehead. Matarazzo’s classy look was accessorized with a pair of black glasses and dark nail polish on his hands, while he gave a fitting smolder to the camera.
“Absolute King” one of his fans commented on the Instagram pic of Matarazzo’s new cover, while other users chimed in to say the actor looks “so sophisticated,” “handsome” and “classy.”
One Instagram user also took to the comments to call Matarazzo “Distinguished gentleman” in the new pic.
Gaten Matarazzo Has Been Playing Dustin Henderson for Nearly a Decade
Matarazzo, along with several of his co-stars, practically grew up on the set of Stranger Things.
Just 12 years old at the time he was cast as Dustin Henderson in the show’s first season, Matarazzo has now played the role for nearly a decade.
Speaking to Basic for an interview, Matarazzo said working on a show like Stranger Things with several other child stars, as well as seasoned actors like Winona Ryder and David Harbour, was the “best school” he could have asked for.
“I am really lucky to have been put in a room with people who have years of experience under their belt,” Matarazzo said of some of the adult cast members, while adding that it was “comforting” to be around more actors his age who were also learning the ins and outs of the industry.
Along with Matarazzo, the Stranger Things cast features former child stars Millie Bobby Brown, now 21, Finn Wolfhard, 22, Caleb McLaughlin, 23, Sadie Sink, 23, Noah Schnapp, 21, who were all between the ages of 11 and 14 when they started on the show.
“Spending a decade in that space gave me a literacy for this world,” Matarazzo told the outlet. “It’s a fun skill to have, and knowing what goes into a set gives me such a deeper respect for the tons of people involved in making a show like this.”
