A lip reader has revealed what Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie told their husbands as they arrived at Peter Phillips’ wedding to Harriet Sperling.
On Saturday, the York sisters made their way into the All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire, alongside their husbands, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank.
Their appearance at the royal wedding came hours after a bombshell report revealed they had never paid rent on their homes at royal palaces, despite not being working members of the Royal Family.
According to the lip-reading expert, Beatrice and Eugenie appeared “tense” as they arrived at their cousins’ nuptials, which was held just a short drive away from Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Estate.
Beatrice, 37, apparently asked her husband Edoardo, 42, to hold her hand as they passed photographers and journalists waiting outside the church.
“You look like you’re struggling with the umbrella,” she said, as reported by the Daily Mail.
“Do I?” Edoardo replied, to which Beatrice seemingly asked: “Can you hold my hand?”
Meanwhile, Eugenie, 36, who is pregnant with her third child, told Jack, 40, that her aunt, 75, had not yet arrived.
Eugenie reportedly said: “Anne isn’t here yet,” to which the businessman replied: “She will be here in a moment.”
Other royals in attendance included the Prince and Princess of Wales, King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Zara and Mike Tindall.
Prince Harry, who is Peter’s first cousin, was reportedly left off the guest list, as was disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson.
Peter, 48, and Harriet, 45, tied the knot in a private ceremony, where the NHS nurse wore an Emilia Wickstead dress and the Pragnell family tiara.
Harriet’s three bridesmaids comprised her daughter, Georgina, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Antonio St John Sperling, and Peter’s daughters Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14, from his first marriage to Autumn Phillips.
The newlyweds announced their engagement in August 2025, with an engagement ring thought to be worth more than $20,000.
They had made their relationship public at the Badminton Horse Trials in May 2024, and the paediatric nurse joined the wider Royal Family in the Royal Box at Ascot the following month.
Now that they are married, Harriet will not receive any royal titles, despite Peter being 19th in line to the throne.
Princess Anne declined to give her two children royal titles at birth to allow them to live more normal lives.
