After 31 years away, alternative rock band Sugar have announced their reunion.

The Bob Mould-fronted group, which also features David Barbe and Malcolm Travis, have recently been teasing a return on social media. Now, they have confirmed their reunion with the new single, ‘House Of Dead Memories’.

The trio reconvened in June to record the track at the Tiny Telephone studio in Oakland, which is out now alongside a video that consists of archival footage from their heyday.

Additionally, Sugar have unveiled plans to return to the road in 2026. They will play two shows at Webster Hall in New York on May 2nd and May 3rd. Then, on May 23rd and May 24th, they’ll perform at the O2 Kentish Town Forum in London.

During a new interview with Rolling Stone, Mould revealed there is currently no concrete plan beyond ‘House of Dead Memories’ and the concerts in 2026 for Sugar, sharing, “I don’t want to get out too far in front of the skis, as they say.”

The singer elaborated, “People’s reactions will probably guide a lot of the possibilities in front of us, whether it’s more songs or more shows. All three of us are all in for whatever feels right. I just want to see if people are still interested.”

Tickets for the upcoming shows are set to go on general sale at 10am local time on October 24th, following a pre-sale on October 22nd at 10am.

The group, who released three albums during their original tenure, have not performed live since January 1995.
