Bless this mess, Supergirl is here. The second film in the newly rebooted DCU has taken to the big screen, bringing to life the colourful and complicated world of Kara Zor-El.
Superman’s cousin has graced the big screen before, but her previous outing was a far more straight forward superhero film. The latest DCU film is an intergalactic road trip that features colourful worlds, characters and plenty of fun needle drops along the way.
Based on the comic Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the film sees Kara teaming up with the recently orphaned Ruthye to hunt down the evil Krem of the Yellow Hills, who has poisoned her beloved dog Krypto. The pair embark on a difficult hunt across the stars to find the Brigand leader, save Krypto and maybe (or maybe not) get revenge for Ruthye’s murdered family.
It’s a big, fun science fiction film that comes with an equally fun soundtrack to boot.
