The next year is set to be chock-full of Survivor returnees on our screens. Of course, there’s the upcoming Survivor 50, which features a whopping 24 returning players for the milestone season. The Traitors U.S. has winners Natalie Anderson and Yam Yam Arocho, as well as legend Rob Cesternino in its midst. And, as announced on Sept. 11, they won’t be the only former castaways sitting at the roundtable, as Omar Zaheer and Venus Vafaare set to appear on the upcoming season of The Traitors Canada.
In June 2023, following the massive success of The Traitors in both the U.S. and U.K., Bell Media commissioned a Canadian version of the game of deception. The debut season featured Toronto resident Erika Casupanan, who competed on and won Survivor 41. Casupanan made history as the first Canadian to win the longtime CBS series.
Only a couple of weeks after Casupanan was crowned Sole Survivor, Zaheer showed up on the same beaches to film Survivor 42. The exotic animal vet was natural in the jungles of Fiji, quickly becoming one of the biggest powerhouse players of the season. At the Final Six, he had a clear shot to sit in the end, only for Maryanne Oketch, one of his closest allies, to take the shot at him instead. Zaheer, originally from Whitby, Ontario, wound up blindsided in sixth place.
In a cast full of conflict, Vafa was not afraid to mix it up with her fellow castaways. The Toronto native was not afraid to speak her mind, and her acerbic personality quickly put her on the outs of her tribe. Luckily, Venus never went to Tribal Council before the merge. And once the individual game hit, she exacted revenge, helping take out some of her biggest enemies. Despite finding a hidden immunity idol, Vafa would go on to be blindsided only a day later in seventh place.

Vafa and Zaheer are not the only reality TV alums who will be donning the trademark cloaks of The Traitors Canada. Season 3. They’ll be joined by Kevin Jacobs and Ty McDonald, who won Big Brother Canada Season 10 and 11, respectively. Other notable cast members include The Mole and Perfect Match star Dom Gabriel, Canada’s Drag Race alum Kitten Kaboodle, choreographer Hollywood Jade, Big Brother Célébrités star Coco Belliveau, Real Housewives of Toronto star Kara Alloway and influencer Sarah Nicole Landry. The cast is rounded out by 12 contestants making their reality TV debut.
The Traitors Canada Season 3 premieres Oct. 21 on CTV. The series is hosted by actress Karine Vanasse.
