Following a bad box office debut of her film “Christy,” actress Sydney Sweeney is speaking out.

The sports drama had one of the worst openings for a new release. It grossed about $1.3 million and played in over 2,000 theaters, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Box Office Mojo ranks it among the worst openings for a new movie.

The movie follows the life of former professional boxer Christy Martin and shines a light on domestic violence.

Amid the box office blunder, the “Euphoria” actress took to social media to say that she’s “proud of this movie.”

“Proud of the film David made,” she said in reference to director David Michôd. “Proud of the story we told. Proud to represent someone as strong and resilient as Christy Martin. This experience has been one of the greatest honors of my life.”

She continued her post by saying, “This film stands for survival, courage, and hope.”

“Through our campaigns, we’ve helped raise awareness for so many affected by domestic violence. We all signed on to this film with the belief that Christy’s story could save lives,” Sweeney explained.

Meanwhile, “Predator: Badlands” topped the box office at $80 million worldwide.

But that didn’t faze Sweeney. She then thanked those who saw the movie and who “felt and believed and will believe in this story for years to come.”

“If Christy gave even one woman the courage to take her first step toward safety, then we will have succeeded. So yes, I’m proud. why? Because we don’t always just make art for numbers, we make it for impact. And Christy has been the most impactful project of my life. Thank you, Christy. I love you.”
