Sydney Sweeney has become a major rival to Oxford stars Emma Watson and Florence Pugh, according to reports.
The two actresses have strong ties to the city, with both having grown up in the city, with the latter being born here as well.
Ms Watson, who is also currently studying at Oxford University, is known for her major role as Hermione Granger in all eight Harry Potter films.
Ms Pugh is known for appearing in films like Midsommar, Oppenheimer and Dune: Part Two, as well as the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Yelena Belova.

The Oxford pair both starred in 2019’s Little Women, playing sisters Meg and Amy in the classic story remake.
Previously, both Ms Watson and Ms Pugh were outlined as favourites to be cast as the new female lead in the upcoming James Bond film.
Most recently played by Daniel Craig in 2021’s No Time to Die, the titular spy is set to be cast soon, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Oxford’s Theo James among the favourites.

Denis Villeneuve has already been officially chosen to direct the next 007 movie after previous hits including Arrival, Blade Runner 2049, Sicario, Prisoners, and Dune.
Now, betting sites have outlined American actress Sydney Sweeney as the clear frontrunner to become the next Bond Girl.
Known for her roles in Euphoria and Anyone But You, the 28-year-old is heavily tipped to secure the part, with odds putting her as short as 1/4.
Other touted names for the sought-after role include Scarlett Johansson, Zendaya, Cara Delevingne, Emma Stone, Ariana Grande, Amy Adams and Kendall Jenner.
