NASA Langley Celebrates Community through Music with ‘Symphony Under the Stars’ Event

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

PLANTOID – “GOOD FOR YOU”

UK neo-prog band Plantoid have shared a second song from upcoming album FLARE. “Good for You” is pastoral with just the right amount of bite.

SYLVAN ESSO – “KEEP ON”

“Keep On” is the b-side to Sylvan Esso’s September single “WDID,” which was their first new music in 3 years.

—

THISTLE – “TIED”

UK band thistle make hazy dreampop with more than a little old school indie rock in there too. “’tied’ is a tribute to the emotional hardcore bands that we grew up on,” the band say. “The lyrics explore the relentless grind of 9-5 work. It flips between optimism and a feeling of defeat… something we’re always looking for in our music”.

—

FINE – “MOMENT”

Fine wrote her new single with Lola Hammerich (Baby in Vain, Blush), and it’s one of several tracks she’s shared this year.

—

HEN OGLEDD (RICHARD DAWSON) – “SCALES WILL FALL”

Hen Ogledd, the impossible-to-pidgeonhole UK group that includes Richard Dawson, Rhodri Davies, Dawn Bothwell and Sally Pilkington, have announced DISCOMBOBULATED, their first album in five years. It’s out February 20 via Domino imprint Weird World. “There’s something to Hen Ogledd that’s really not like a normal band,” Dawson notes. “It’s something… else.” There’s no doubt about that watching the video to nine-minute first single “Scales Will Fall” which incorporates prog, mossy English folk, hip hop and more.

GRACE CUMMINGS – “TIMES LIKE THESE” FT. JIM JAMES

“‘Times Like These’ is for somebody that needs some comfort and some love,” Grace Cummings says of her new single, which features her 2025 tourmate Jim James. “The Holidays boast joy and happiness and celebration and togetherness but it’s one of the most lonely times I can think of, for many people. The state of the world leaves me feeling devastated, but maybe a tiny bit of it would be better if I tried to pick myself up and keep going, helped others, told somebody I cared about that I love them, make a small mark that somebody might find some beauty or comfort in. This year, my friendship with Jim James has helped me to see some beautiful things in the world, and to be grateful for what I have. It is an honour to have him, one of my favourite voices of the past 20 years, singing with me on this song.”

—

PEARLA – “YOU DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG, YOU JUST BROKE MY HEART”

Pearla is about to wrap up a month-long residency at NYC’s Francis Kite Club, and ahead of that she’s shared a twangy, melancholy new single, “You Didn’t Do Anything Wrong, You Just Broke My Heart.”

—

ROBBER ROBBER – “TALKBACK”

Burlington, Vermont band Robber Robber have signed to Fire Talk Records and released their first song for the label. “Talkback” is a propulsive two-minute indie rock earworm banger that ends before you’re tired of it and will have you going back to listen again.
