Former “GMA3” co-anchors Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are engaged three years after their controversial romance first made headlines.
“We are sharing with all of you that we are engaged,” Robach, 52, said during the Tuesday, Oct. 14, episode of the “Amy & T.J.” podcast. “And we’ve been engaged for just about a month now.”
Robach noted that she hasn’t exactly been discreet with her new bling.
“I was in three massive football stadiums three weekends in a row, wearing my engagement ring, very proudly, very excitedly, and kept waiting for somebody to point it out,” she said. “If people saw it, maybe they were just being polite. I think a lot of people who are close to us, who love us and know us, understand what we’ve been through, and so they don’t want to pry.”
When the Daily Mail published photos of the duo getting cozy in November 2022, Robach and Holmes were still married to Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig, respectively. Their romance was initially characterized as an affair, but they’ve since cleared up those rumors.
“We were outed as being in a relationship, but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterous, being outed as cheating on our spouses, and it wasn’t the case,” Holmes, 48, said during a December 2023 episode of the couple’s podcast. “Because the odd thing is that the day those pictures were taken and the day that article was released, we had both, at that point, been in divorce proceedings.”

Robach and Holmes both finalized their divorces in 2023. Their upcoming nuptials will be the third marriage for both of them. Robach was also previously married to Tim McIntosh from 1996-2008, and Holmes was married to Amy Ferson from 2004 to 2007. Robach shares two daughters with McIntosh, while Holmes shares a son and a daughter with Ferson and a daughter with Fiebig.
Although Robach and Holmes’ relationship didn’t begin with infidelity, it still had major consequences. They were both fired from “Good Morning America” in January 2023.
“After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes about different options, we all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News,” an ABC News spokesperson said at the time. “We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions.”
