“So get your flashlights. Get your backpack. It’s going to be amazing.”
After much anticipation, Netflix has finally dropped the first look and teaser for the animated spinoff universe of Stranger Things, titled Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.
Set between Season 2 and Season 3 of the original series, the animated show will see the familiar gang “fight new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery terrorizing their town.”
As confirmed by the Duffer Brothers before, the animated version will not bring back the original actors: Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, and others. Instead, a new voice cast will step into the shoes of the beloved characters. Brooklyn Davey Norstedt will voice Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport is Max, Luca Diaz is Mike, Ej (Elisha) Williams is Lucas, Braxton Quinney is Dustin, Ben Plessala is Will, and Brett Gipson is Hopper.
Additionally, the Duffers, who have since moved on from Netflix to begin their partnership with Paramount, serve as executive producers, while Eric Robles takes charge as showrunner.
With the final showdown of the Stranger Things journey that was launched nearly a decade ago fast approaching, this new chapter aims to explore realms that were off-limits in the original. Hawkins isn’t over; it’s simply evolved.
Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 hits Netflix on November 26, followed by Volume 2 on December 25 and the final episode on December 31.
