Tarek El Moussa’s recent middle-of-the-night livestream on TikTok had fans concerned after his behavior appeared erratic.
In the video, which has since circulated online, El Moussa, 44, engaged with viewer comments as he clutched a plastic water bottle.
“I absolutely loved filming that show,” the HGTV star said, per Daily Mail, referring to his series The Flip Off. “Is anyone watching right now – watched that show, The Flip Off??”
El Moussa then seemingly responded to a fan comment and said, “I ski, I snowboard, I do all the things.”
Some viewers later took to Reddit with their concern about his bizarre behavior.
“He looks crazed,” one person wrote, while another added, “He was a lot worse than this about a week or two ago. Did a live in the evening and he was literally picking fights with people and screaming. Red-faced. Bug-eyed. Went on for HOURS doing it.”
However, El Moussa’s rep offered an explanation for his odd behavior.
“Tarek couldn’t sleep and got on TikTok Live overnight, turning his insomnia into creativity,” the representative said in a statement to Star. “He has been trying to source leads for an unlisted property for the next season of The Flip Off.”
“Funny enough, this impromptu live turned out to be his highest-engaging one yet, driving the most leads and followers in the shortest amount of time,” the rep added. “Turned out to be a surprisingly productive result of a sleepless night.”
