Mark Ruffalo has a new “Task” to complete.
The HBO Original Series is set to return for a second season, according to a news release from HBO Max. HBO executive Casey Bloys announced Thursday that Ruffalo will return in his leading role.
Francesca Orsi, who heads HBO Drama Series and Films, described the audience reaction to Season 1 as “fervor.” And the show’s creator, Brad Inglesby, said he’s “honored and excited to get back to work on a second season of our show.”
How to watch Season 1 of ‘Task’
The first season of the drama series is streaming on HBO Max. It follows Tom Brandis, an FBI agent in charge of a task force working to stop a string of violent crimes.

Did Mark Ruffalo gain weight for ‘Task’?
To prepare for the role, in addition to mastering a regional accent, Ruffalo needed to show that his character had gained weight as he dealt with tragedy. According to USA TODAY reporting, he wore padding to augment the weight.
