The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul is reportedly under investigation in connection with an additional alleged incident with on-again, off-again boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.
According to NBC News, a police spokesman said Mortensen contacted the West Jordan, Utah, Police Department last month about an alleged 2024 incident between the pair. The details of the alleged altercation were not revealed, with the outlet citing the open investigation as the reason why. Entertainment Weekly has reached out to the West Jordan PD for comment.
EW has also reached out to reps for Paul and Mortensen. NBC News reported that both parties declined to comment on their report.
The exes are expected in court on April 7 after Mortensen was granted a temporary restraining order against Paul. In court documents, Mortensen — who was also granted temporary custody of their 2-year-old son, Ever — detailed alleged fights between the pair on Feb. 23 and Feb. 24. (Police previously confirmed that there were allegations from both sides related to the case. Paul has yet to comment publicly on Mortensen’s allegations, which include Paul allegedly choking Mortensen last month, but has said there is more to the story. )
“After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm,” read a statement from Paul’s team. “There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”
While the apparent 2024 incident is the third allegation in the current investigation related to Paul and Mortensen, she previously pleaded guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault following a 2023 fight between the duo. After a video of that incident was leaked by TMZ last week, ABC pulled the plug on Paul’s season of The Bachelorette, which was set to debut on March 22.

Shortly after Paul’s rep spoke out, Mortensen released a statement of his own.
“As anyone who has seen the video will understand, this is a deeply upsetting situation,” Mortensen said in a statement to EW. “I am, unfortunately, used to these baseless claims about me and our relationship, which I categorically deny. I am focusing on our son and his safety, and hope that Taylor will do the same.”
Paul is currently on probation until August. Salt Lake County District Attorney Sam Gill previously told EW that his office that his office was looking into the February allegations against Paul, but noted no official charges had been filed.
Gill told NBC News on Tuesday that his office has also “requested all the investigative material to screen the most recent allegations for charges,” adding: “We made the request because of the potential that if charges are filed, they could be enhanced due to a prior plea in abeyance to a domestic violence offense.”
