Bachelor Nation was in for a surprise when the new star of The Bachelorette was revealed to be Taylor Frankie Paul.
Taylor’s no stranger to reality TV, but for those who aren’t familiar with her Hulu show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, here are five things to know before she embarks on her journey to find love.
She’s a Mom of Three
Taylor, 31, is a single mom to three kids. She and her ex-husband, Tate Paul, welcomed their daughter Indy in 2017, followed by their son Ocean in 2020. After Taylor and Tate divorced in May 2022, she began dating Dakota Mortensen. Viewers of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives saw parts of Taylor and Dakota’s relationship play out during the series and by the end of season 1, they welcomed their son Ever in March 2024.
The reality TV star previously admitted that being a mom was one of the things that made her nervous about agreeing to be the next Bachelorette.
“I’m a co-parent. I have two baby daddies, not one, so I’m dealing with two different people, my children, my home base is [in Utah]. Can I travel that long? Can I be gone that long?” Taylor said during an appearance on Call Her Daddy, published on Wednesday, September 10.
She Got Her Start on TikTok
Before she landed a spot on one of the most popular new reality TV shows, Taylor had quite a large following on TikTok. She and several of her friends started what they branded “MomTok” sometime in 2020 and since then, their popularity has exploded. Now, Taylor boasts over 5 million followers.
The Swinging Scandal That Blew Up MomTok
Not all of the original MomTok members decided to be a part of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and it was because the group had a falling out due to a “soft-swinging scandal” that made headlines in 2022.
Taylor revealed that she and Tate had an agreement amongst their group of friends that they could be intimate with others as long as there was no actual sexual intercourse. She later admitted to crossing that line and it was the catalyst for her and Tate’s divorce.
What Taylor Wants in a Man
When it came to what Taylor was looking for in an ideal partner, she made it very clear that the man had to either live in Utah or be willing to move to Utah where she’s based.
“I have two baby daddies. I’m going nowhere, so you will be moving to me in Utah, so if you like me enough, you will be moving,” she told the Today show.
Along with having to be located in Utah, Taylor said she wants someone who is “hardworking, motivated and in their 30s or early 40s.”
What She’s Most Looking Forward to Being the Bachelorette
While there’s plenty for Taylor to be excited about when it comes to being the star of The Bachelorette, she recently said that she’s most looking forward to “meeting a handful of people that are outside my bubble.”
“I’m just excited to get to know different perspectives and new parts about myself too,” Taylor told Us Weekly in an interview published on September 10. “It’s out of my comfort zone, so, obviously, it’s scary. You’re dealing with feelings — and you’re dealing with other people’s feelings — and I don’t really like to hurt other people’s feelings, especially when you’re being vulnerable and open.”
