Taylor Swift is giving fans unprecedented access to her historic Eras Tour by announcing two new projects set to release in December, Rolling Stone reported.
Swift announced plans for a six-part documentary series titled “The End of an Era” and a new concert film during an appearance on “Good Morning America” Monday. Both projects will debut Dec. 12 on Disney+.
The pop superstar’s announcement comes less than weeks after she dropped her 12th studio album.
The documentary series will provide behind-the-scenes footage from Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour, which spanned 149 performances across 51 cities over 21 months.
According to a press release, the series will showcase appearances by Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams, Ed Sheeran and Florence Welch, along with Swift’s family and friends. The first two episodes premiere Dec. 12, with two new episodes releasing each week thereafter.
Swift will simultaneously release “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show,” which captures her final Eras Tour performance from Dec. 8, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada.
The concert film will feature songs from her 2024 album “The Tortured Poets Department,” material that was not included in her first Eras Tour concert film, released in October 2023, because the album had not yet been released, the report said.
The announcements follow the recent release of Swift’s latest studio album “The Life of a Showgirl,” which became the most-streamed album on Spotify in a single day and shattered sales records on its first day of release.
Swift also released “Party of a Showgirl” in select cinemas, featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the album’s creation and a music video for her song “The Fate of Ophelia.”
The new projects will close out Swift’s documentation of the Eras Tour, which became one of the highest-grossing concert tours in history.
