Blake Lively exchanged a few messages with Taylor Swift about Justin Baldoni.
The “It Ends With Us” star sent several texts to Swift about the film’s director, who Lively is suing over allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation — according to court documents obtained by E! News Jan. 20.
In one of their conversations, Lively referred to Baldoni — who denies all the accusations against him — as her “doofus director” and a “clown” when asking the Grammy winner to look over the script she had revised for the Colleen Hoover adaptation, per the filing. (In a transcript of her July deposition, also obtained by E! News, Lively said she had sent Swift the script because the singer was on her way to her apartment, where she and Baldoni were having a meeting at the time.)
Swift texted back, per court documents, “I’ll do anything for you !!”
And Lively later thanked Swift, noting that she relayed the whole situation to her husband Ryan Reynolds.
“You were so epically heroic today,” Lively texted, according to the docs. “I recapped every moment to Ryan. I kept remembering stuff—You making s–t up about me and lenses. And referring to yourself as my doll. This clown falling for all of it. But also resisting it.”
She added, “You are the worlds absolute greatest friend ever.”
In her July deposition, Lively also confirmed that she told Swift in her text that “you don’t have to read” the script. However, in the Jan. 20 filing, the actress argued that the language in her text was simply so her friend didn’t feel “pressured.”
“I sent Taylor the script on her way to my apartment because Justin was still there, and I asked her to read them,” Lively said in the deposition. “I told her she didn’t have to, I didn’t want her to feel pressured to do that, but I hoped that she would.”
E! News reached out to reps for Lively and Baldoni for comment but has not heard back. A rep for Swift did not provide comment.
This isn’t the first time Swift’s name has come up in Lively’s legal battle against Baldoni, who accused the “Gossip Girl” alum of using her friendship with the “Fate of Ophelia” singer as leverage for more creative control over “It Ends With Us.”
In a since-dismissed countersuit against Lively, the “Jane the Virgin” alum shared text messages he received from his costar in which she compared herself to Emilia Clarke’s “Game of Thrones” character Khaleesi and referred to Swift and Reynolds as her “dragons.”
“For better or worse, but usually for better,” Lively wrote, per the 2025 filing. “Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. you will too, I can promise you.”
In response to the allegations in the countersuit, a rep for Swift denied having any involvement in the making of “It Ends With Us,” apart from contributing her song “My Tears Ricochet” to the soundtrack.
“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie,” her spokesperson told E! in a May statement. “She was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film.”
