Recently engaged Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may soon take their love story to Netflix with the network reportedly pushing for an exclusive documentary.
The Grammy-winning singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, both 35, announced their engagement on Tuesday, sharing a carousel of romantic photos, including one of Kelce proposing in a rose-filled garden.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” they captioned the post, after being spotted for the first time on Thursday.
The announcement quickly went viral with over a million shares.
Netflix is said to be pursuing the couple for a high-profile docuseries covering their path to the altar.
“The streaming giant has told them that there is a substantial budget for a Taylor and Travis documentary,” a source told The Sun.
“The wedding will be a huge moment and Netflix wants to be at the forefront of that. It is also planning a bid for exclusive access to the wedding.”
Swift is no stranger to Netflix. Her 2020 documentary Miss Americana garnered praise for its behind-the-scenes look into her personal and professional life.
Her concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour smashed records, grossing more than $261 million globally, but was hosted on Disney+.
Kelce, meanwhile, has started expanding into entertainment.
He recently filmed a role for Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2 with Adam Sandler and has set up a residence in Los Angeles during the NFL offseason to explore acting opportunities.
