Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding invitations were sent electronically with no paper invites, according to guest Greg James
The BBC Radio 1 host revealed he received his invite via a link and the exact date it arrived
James described the nuptials as “the best night, maybe ever”
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce didn’t send out paper invitations for their wedding, according to one guest.
While appearing on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show on Wednesday, July 8, host Greg James shared details about the couple’s nuptials and when he received the coveted invite.
Swift and Kelce, both 36, married in front of family and friends at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3. James, 40, attended with his wife, author Bella Mackie, after receiving an informal invitation while interviewing Swift on BBC Radio 1 in October 2025.
DJ James revealed that the official invite for the big day came through on March 12, the night before he was about to start a 620-mile bike ride for charity, a challenge where he was joined by Prince William.

Sharing further details about the invitation, James spilled that “the invitation arrived on my phone, in the form of a link, in the middle of the night when I was trying to get some sleep during a storm … this link came through saying that you’ve been invited to the wedding and it was the night before the Comic Relief challenge.”
“I had to sit with it all week. I basically turned my phone straight off and thought, ‘I can’t deal with that now, it’s too mad.’ I didn’t tell anyone for the whole week,” he added.
A listener then asked James if he received a paper invite, to which he responded, “There was no paper invite to follow, it was all electronic.”
James added that it was “killing” him to not be able to talk about his attendance as he apologized to his loyal listeners.
Another listener also asked James if he thought the invite was “an elaborate trick” that one of his fellow radio hosts was playing on him by giving him a “fake invitation.”
“Yes, until we were in there, there was a huge part us, that me and Bella were like, ‘This could not be real. This could be a scam.’ So until we were in, we thought we may have made a big trip here for nothing. I wasn’t sure until we got there,” James explained.
The radio host was publicly invited to Swift and Kelce’s nuptials on Oct. 3, 2025, during his interview with the pop superstar about her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl.
After Swift said that watching Kelce “walk through a door is genuinely a privilege” because of his size, James noted that he’d like the Kansas City Chiefs tight end “to do a wrestling move on me into a pool.”

“The way he’s going to do that as soon as he sees you at our wedding. That’s gonna happen,” Swift replied, causing James to say “woah” and throw his arms up in the air.
“Am I coming?” James asked, to which Swift replied with a laugh, “Obviously,” and later told him she’d tell him her wedding location “at a different time.”
Swift and James have known each other for over 10 years and the U.K. personality has interviewed the “Opalite” singer on a number of occasions, including when he drove her around London back in 2014 as they sang her track “Blank Space.”
During his return to his radio show on Wednesday after the wedding, James also shared some details about the nuptials, including that the food was “plentiful and delicious.”
“There was lots of everything,” James continued. “You know at a wedding you sometimes get the first drink free, well this was you get the first 10,00 drinks free.”
“I had the best night, maybe ever,” he added.
The host shared a series of photos and clips from his time in N.Y.C., including before and on the way to the nuptials with his wife, on Instagram. “I’ve changed my mind about destination weddings,” he captioned the carousel post.
