Taylor Swift is giving her fans one more surprise to celebrate the release of her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
Four days before the album dropped, Taylor Nation — the singer’s official social media team — shared a detailed release schedule on Instagram. The post, captioned “Places, everyone! #TSTheLifeofaShowgirl comes out this week, and your official schedule is here!” outlined a week of events, interviews, and merch drops to mark the new era. But one slot on the schedule left fans guessing: an unaccounted-for “standby” window on Oct. 4 around 7 p.m. Eastern.
Swifties flooded social media with theories about what might happen during that mystery timeslot. Their anticipation paid off Saturday night when Swift revealed a special announcement on Instagram.
“File this under ‘save your best for the finale,’” she wrote. “I think my favorite moments from the tour were the acoustic surprises. So I went back into the studio with Max and Shellback to record acoustic/unplugged versions of a few of the ‘Showgirl’ songs with brand new vocals and production!”
