It’s no secret that Taylor Swift loves to drop hints with what she’s wearing. Whether teasing a new project with a super-specific color combination (Toy Story 5’s blue, white, and yellow) or stepping boldly into a new era with a fresh haircut and love for co-ord sets (1989), her sartorial choices have become just as packed with Easter eggs as a music video or interview might be. And lately, she’s been turning to plenty of yellow floral dresses.
Last night, the showgirl stepped out with fiancé Travis Kelce for his annual Tight End University party while in a little jacquard minidress. The piece, courtesy of Simkhai, was crafted from a light gray base with raised yellow-and-green florals woven directly onto the fabric. Structurally, flared straps and a sharp square neckline led into a fitted bodice and relaxed miniskirt—making for a playful party dress that looked a bit familiar on Swift.
Two weeks ago, on June 9, the artist celebrated the Toy Story 5 premiere with a surprise performance of her original song for the film, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” as well as a duet of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” with Randy Newman himself. For the on-stage moment, she changed from her patchwork Erdem red-carpet mini into a long yellow gown by Oscar de la Renta. The piece, just like her dress last night, featured striking floral embellishments and felt like an intentional callback to the shades and motifs of her photo shoot for her debut country single, “Tim McGraw.”
As for the rest of the TEU ensemble, Swift went with studded yellow Aquazzura stiletto sandals and pulled her hair back into an updo. The evening marked her second year attending the event, which is put on by Kelce and fellow NFL tight ends Greg Olsen and George Kittle.
