Details continue to trickle out about the inside of Taylor Swift‘s wedding to Travis Kelce, and one of the most moving claims is that both Swift and Kelce read 20-minute-long vows – and Kelce and guests cried during them.
Although the superstar couple clamped down on cell phones and photos from the nuptials, a guest told People that Swift “walked down the aisle to a stage where they said ‘I do,'” adding that “their vows were about 20 minutes each.”
“What I will say about the wedding was it was so much funnier and emotional than expected, and as big as it was, it also felt very intimate,” director Joseph Kahn wrote on Instagram.According to Billboard, broadcast star George Stephanopoulos said the vows were “everything you would hope for — real, vulnerable, serious and silly, deeply loving.” As for the decor inside Madison Square Garden, he added that it looked like a “garden inside the Garden.”
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Read Their Vows ‘From Gold Books’ – and Kelce Became Emotional
According to People, Swift and Kelce read their vows “from gold books.” They also “provided guests with embroidered handkerchiefs for any emotional moments throughout the evening.”
Two guests spoke to NBC News about the vows. Swift and Kelce “personally wrote their own vows,” NBC News reported, adding, “Swift’s vows featured a bit of her singing.” The vows caused some people in the audience to cry, the guests told NBC.

“You would think the bride would be the one crying more, but it was actually Travis that was more emotional,” a guest told NBC.
TMZ reported that Kelce couldn’t hold back the “waterworks at the altar.”
Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC, a guest at the wedding, described the couple’s vows in a now-deleted social media post. “Long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing explorations by each as to how they met, why they want to be with each other for all eternity, the promises they made in joining their much-beloved two whole families (Kelce’s and Swift’s) as one, and committing to their new mutual life together,” he wrote.
Guests Could Win a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle at the Reception
Guests also described the reception, which included performances by Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney, and a raffle. One of the prizes was a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle like one Kelce and Swift rode in during the earliest stages of their relationship, according to NBC.
Cartier watches were among the raffle prizes, TMZ reported. “Multiple designer purses” were almost among the prizes.
“We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” Swift told Timewhen the couple first started dating, adding that “we were a couple” when they drove off in the Chevelle. “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
By August 2025, Swift had announced on Instagram, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
