Despite the pathetic attempts and claims by other less-distinguished institutions, only one school can truly call themselves Orange and that’s Syracuse.
Thankfully there is one global icon who wants to show the proper respect to Syracuse’s resurgence and that’s why Taylor Swift’s forthcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl”, will feature a lot of Otto’s favorite color.
On Monday, Taylor Nation — an official branch of the pop superstar’s marketing team — posted a TikTok slide show of 12 images with the caption “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’” Swift is seen wearing orange, the official color of Syracuse University, in every image.
A special limited vinyl edition of the album will be released in “Portofino orange glitter,” according to a pre-order page on her site.
You can tell from the track list that some of this upcoming album is very Syracuse Football inspired:
Father Figure about Fran Brown and his relationship with his players (well at least one of them sees him as that for sure).
Ruin the Friendship likely refers to Trebor Pena moving to Penn State in the spring and Wi$h Li$t is a tale about the Orange’s relentless pursuit for five-star talent.
The album is scheduled to release on October 3rd and based on past Swift releases, it might not be great news for Syracuse football the following day at SMU, but Fran is 1-0 in his post-release games.
While Syracuse hasn’t been able to benefit a ton from the karma of a new Swift album, maybe this time it will lead to The Best Day for the Orange in Dallas.
Also, time to book a show for the JMA Dome….I mean what better place to launch this tour than the Home of the Orange.
