ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — Lines of people “Cancelled” alternate plans as they waited at Target to be among the first to get ahold of Taylor Swift’s new album “The Life of a Showgirl.”
Police investigating double shooting near shopping center in Woodbridge
At the location in Potomac Yard Center on Richmond Highway, speakers blasted lyrics from the Pop singer while Swifties gathered.
The album was released at midnight on Oct. 3 and is already stirring up conversation. Twelve songs, each invoking its own line of speculation and questions about who they are about.
Perhaps the most obvious muse for multiple songs would be Swift’s fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce.
Is Taylor Swift dissing Charli XCX on this ‘Life of a Showgirl’ song?
Several songs point to Kelce and Swift’s relationship including, “The Fate of Ophelia,” which seemingly makes a reference to Kelce using his New Heights podcast to petition Swift to go out with him after a failed attempt to meet her at one of her shows during the “Eras Tour.”
Only 41 minutes of music, Swift’s album can pretty much be listened to in full during a single drive on I-495.
