Taylor Swift’s fans have been buzzing about her forthcoming album since she announced it last month on fiancé Travis Kelce’s podcast.
That excitement went up a notch Friday when Swift announced “The Life of a Showgirl” release party would take place in movie theaters across the country. The record itself will go on sale at midnight on Oct. 3 at Target stores.
In conjunction with the record release, Swift will be showing a movie at theaters across the nation.
“The Official Release Party of a Showgirl: Oct 3 – Oct 5 only in cinemas!” Swift wrote in an Instagram post. “You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album The Life of a Showgirl ❤️🔥”
AMC said in a news release that the “approximately 89-minute show” is scheduled to play Friday, Oct. 3; Saturday, Oct. 4; and Sunday, Oct. 5. The first show begins at 2 p.m. Central Time on Oct. 3.
The release party will be shown in all 540 AMC locations across the nation. That includes the AMC Northrock 14 in Wichita.
The cost is $12 plus tax, although there also could be a convenience fee, AMC said. You can buy tickets here.
The Regal theaters in Wichita also are selling tickets for the release movie, with shows starting at 2 p.m. Oct. 3. You can purchase tickets here and they start at $12 (before any fees).
AMC noted that singing and dancing will be encouraged during these shows, although no one is allowed to “stand on seats or block any aisles or stairs.”
