TCL has launched its 2026 SQD-Mini LED TV lineup in Saudi Arabia, introducing the C7L, C8L and flagship X11L.

This launch brings the company’s latest display technology to the Kingdom, positioning SQD-Mini LED as a new step forward in how premium televisions manage brightness, colour accuracy, contrast and large-screen immersion.

At the center of the lineup is SQD-Mini LED, TCL’s latest display technology, which combines advanced Mini LED backlighting with Super Quantum Dot materials.

The technology has been developed to improve how light is converted into color, delivering higher color purity, more stable brightness performance, deeper contrast and improved consistency across ultra-large screen sizes.

For consumers, this matters because premium television performance is no longer judged by one specification alone.

A modern display is expected to handle cinematic streaming, live sports, console gaming, AI-enhanced content and everyday family viewing without compromising picture quality across different environments.

This has become especially important as larger screens become more central to home entertainment across Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf.

The move toward 75-inch, 85-inch and 98-inch televisions has increased the technical demands placed on display systems.

On larger panels, imperfections in local dimming, uneven colour reproduction, halo effects and reduced shadow detail become more visible.

SQD-Mini LED is designed to address these challenges by improving the relationship between light control and color performance at the panel level.

Instead of relying only on higher brightness or more dimming zones, the system optimises the interaction between the Mini LED backlight, the quantum dot layer and the colour filter system.

This enables greater colour purity, improved light efficiency and reduced colour crosstalk, while supporting deeper blacks and more consistent performance across different screen sizes.

In flagship implementations, the technology is capable of supporting peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits and more than 20,000 local dimming zones.

The result is a display system built for the way people now consume entertainment.

In sports, where bright stadium lighting, fast motion and darker background areas often appear in the same frame, precise light control is critical.

In gaming, high refresh rates must be matched with strong HDR performance and low visual distortion. In cinematic content, bright highlights and deep shadows need to appear naturally without washing out detail or creating distracting blooming around objects.

This is where TCL’s SQD-Mini LED strategy moves beyond a conventional product upgrade.

The technology reflects a wider attempt to create a more balanced premium display experience, where brightness, contrast, colour accuracy and motion handling work together rather than being treated as separate performance categories.

The company’s new lineup has been structured around different levels of premium viewing ambition.

The C7L serves as the entry point into TCL’s SQD-Mini LED range, combining elevated brightness, rich color depth, a 144Hz native panel and Game Accelerator technology supporting variable refresh rates of up to 288Hz.

This positions it for consumers seeking a premium upgrade for sports, gaming and everyday entertainment.

The C8L moves further into the premium home entertainment category, with enhanced dimming precision, TCL’s WHVA 2.0 Ultra Panel, stronger contrast depth and Audio by Bang & Olufsen.

Designed with shared viewing experiences in mind, it is well-suited for families in Saudi Arabia who use the television as the centre of the living room, whether for watching films together, following major sporting events, gaming, or enjoying everyday streaming content.

Its Virtually ZeroBorder design also reflects the growing importance of aesthetics, as televisions increasingly become part of the home environment rather than simply a functional device.

At the top of the range, the X11L represents TCL’s flagship SQD-Mini LED proposition. It combines advanced brightness performance, large-scale dimming precision, anti-reflection technology, immersive Audio by Bang & Olufsen and a near edge-to-edge viewing design.

Available in 75, 85 and 98 inches, it is positioned as TCL’s strongest expression of premium large-screen entertainment.
