Jenelle Evans’ mom was rushed to hospital after suffering a stroke, according to reports.
Barbara Evans, who appeared alongside her daughter on the MTV show Teen Mom 2, is believed to have been discharged and is now recuperating at home following the major health scare.
She’s expected to make a full recovery. Scientists recently revealed one habit that could be an early warning sign of a stroke.
According to TMZ, Jenelle traveled to North Carolina to take care of her mom. It’s believed she was initially delayed traveling to see Barbara due to recent sinus surgery.
The Express US has approached Jenelle’s representatives for comment.
Jenelle and Barbara have had a tumultuous relationship over the years, however, it seems things are starting to improve.
“[Things are] good,” Jenelle told Us Weekly in June. She added, “We talk from time to time, but not every day.”
Barbara and Jenelle’s relationship broke down as they endured a years-long custody battle over Jenelle’s eldest son Jace. The 16-year-old was under Barbara’s care for 13 years after Jenelle signed over custody shortly after he was born.
At the time, Jenelle explained, “When he is older, I will tell him I was really young and I couldn’t put a roof over my own head, let alone his. Once I get a job, save money and have my own place for three months, then I’ll bring my mom to court.”

Jenelle gained full custody of her son in 2023.
She told Us Weekly at the time, “My mom and I decided together to grant full custody back to me because we want to build our relationship back as mother and daughter.”
She added, “My mother agrees it’s time for Jace to be back with his siblings and living with a mother and father. She also thinks it’s important for Jace to be around a father figure to learn ‘boy things’ and have ‘men talk’.”
Jenelle concluded, “She knows we’re able to handle it. We want to all get along for the sake of the children and – like I said before – building back our relationship as mother and daughter.”
