Teen Mom star Chelsea DeBoer would choose to be on the hit MTV show again, given how much her story impacted young girls, and ‘helped’ those who could ‘relate’ to her situation
Teen Mom star Chelsea DeBoer would do the hit MTV show all over again if given the option.
Chelsea, now 34, was introduced to the world as a 16-year-old pregnant teenager, Chelsea Houska, on the MTV reality series 16 and Pregnant in 2009. Opening up her life to the camera, Chelsea showed how she navigated her relationship with her then-boyfriend, Adam Lind, the father of their now 16-year-old daughter, Aubree, and attempted to balance her school life with her friendships.
16 and Pregnant marked the beginning of Chelsea’s reality show career, which is still ongoing with her and her 37-year-old husband, Cole DeBoer’s latest renovation HGTV reality series, Down Home Fab. On the show, they refurbish and design properties for lucky homeowners.

Although Chelsea and Cole’s run on the 16 and Pregnant spinoff Teen Mom 2 is over, it doesn’t seem to be a regret for the long-married couple, who tied the knot in 2016 and have three children together.
While Chelsea appeared on Teen Mom 2 from its debut in 2011, Cole joined the show as her boyfriend in 2015.
Chelsea exclusively revealed to The Mirror U.S. that when she first left Teen Mom 2 in 2020, she initially wouldn’t have wanted to rejoin the show, but her feelings have now changed.
“I would have answered no to that question just when I was freshly off the show,” she said in response to a question about whether or not she would go back in time and agree to be on Teen Mom 2 and 16 and Pregnant again.
“Right now, looking back, I would definitely do it again. I feel like it’s part of the story that got us to where we are now,” she explained.
“I’m really proud that I shared that story because I feel like so many girls relate to the situation that I went through and so many people have come up to me and just been watching your journey, and you like leaving a bad relationship and finding good love, help them and that to me is everything and so I would 100% do it. Yeah,” she further explained.
Chelsea and Cole continue to see success outside of MTV, as Season 3 of their HGTV show, Down Home Fab, brought in 7.3 million viewers.
She previously explained what she believed made their home design show so unique compared to other similar shows on the network.
“We kind of goof around a little bit, and we’re not so serious, and we’re not like cookie-cutter. No, or as wholesome as maybe the other people are,” she said, adding, “I am an HGTV fan. We [she and Cole] both are. yeah. However, I do feel that many of the shows are very similar, so we wanted ours to stand out a little. And I think it’s just like a younger feel to it.”
