Dylan Sprayberry is a new dad.
The Teen Wolf alum welcomed his first child with his wife, Pruette Karl, sharing the news on Instagram Wednesday, July 22. Sprayberry, who starred as Liam Dunbar in the popular supernatural series, posted a close-up snap of his newborn’s fist holding onto a shirt.
“‘As written.’ #longlivesprayberry” he captioned the post.
The new dad first revealed that he and his wife were expecting a baby together on Instagram back in April. After sharing several snaps of himself enjoying an outdoor walk, Sprayberry posted a snap of his wife holding a flower with her growing baby bump on full display.
“What would you guys say if I told you I am going to be releasing new music VERY soon?? And what would you say if I told I’M GOING TO BE A DAD!?!?” he captioned the post.
The news comes one week after the Baby Blue star announced that he converted to Scientology three years ago during his sobriety journey.
“Lately I’ve been posting some really cool informational videos from the Scientology Instagram accounts and some of the Scientology affiliated accounts on my Instagram Story and there have been some people who have been curious and they’ve been asking me like what’s that all about,” he said in a video shared to Instagram on July 12. “And so I thought I’d come on here and fill you guys in. I am a Scientologist. I’ve been a Scientologist for three years now.”

“The original reason I got into Scientology was because I’ve been sober now for five years, off of drugs, clean and sober, which has been amazing,” Sprayberry added.
While he noted that he’s been sober for five years now, the 28-year-old shared that early in his journey he started to think back on his life decisions and fully understand why he started using drugs.

“When I was a teenager, I was experiencing tons of anxiety and depression, and it was becoming more and more crippling with time, and so that’s kind of why I started I guess what you would call self-medicating,” he explained. “I realize now that I was trying to handle that anxiety and that depression with these drugs, and now that I’m sober, I can tell that it’s still there.”
“It’s just suppressed and that was something I really had — it was tough — but I had to confront,” he continued. “I realized that, like, I was using those drugs to try to handle that stuff, but all it did was make the anxiety and depression worse because I had ignored it and numbed myself to it for, like, 10 years, and so I really put myself into a difficult game there, and anyways, I was looking for solutions, and I was lucky enough to meet some amazing Scientologists.”
