The 1975 drummer George Daniel has teamed up with Oscar Farrell for a hypnotic new single ‘volc4’ – take a listen below.
Last year, Daniel launched his own electronic imprint DH2 via Dirty Hit, and has so far released huge albums like Kelly Lee Owens‘ ‘Dreamstate’. He also released his debut solo single, ‘Screen Cleaner’.
Along with their club nights in London, New York and Los Angeles, dh2 also staged a huge takeover at Glastonbury’s San Remo last summer, featuring the likes of Daniel, Farrell, Owens, Surusinghe, Sampha, Lil Silva, Daniel Avery, Taylor Skye and Bodhi.
Now, Daniel has released a new single called ‘volc4’ alongside Oscar Farrell, a London-based producer also signed to the label. Featuring a pumping garage beat, the hypnotic track is the second of Farrell and Daniel’s collaborations, including ‘volc3’ released in February.

Recently, Daniel wed his partner and ‘Brat‘ popstar Charli XCX.
The pair first tied the knot at Hackney Town Hall on July 19 in an intimate ceremony of around 20 people. Charli would go on to share footage from the day and joke she would leave Daniel if he didn’t cry at the sight of her – thankfully, her caption said that “luckily he did”.
Charli and Daniel would then stage a second star-studded ceremony in Sicily, with Daniel’s bandmate Matty Healy spotted DJing at the event.
Caroline Polachek was also seen singing Daniel Johnston’s ‘True Love Will Find You In The End’ at the wedding, while Swedish rapper Yung Lean sang The Stooges’ 1969 proto-punk classic ‘I Wanna Be A Dog’.
Troye Sivan, Shygirl, Clairo, Richie Shazam, The Dare, Beabadoobee, Amelia Dimoldenberg, and Healy’s mother, Denise Welch, were also spotted at the wedding.
Elsewhere, George Daniel has said he doesn’t want more attention in going solo: “Matty can have everything!”
