The 8-Bit Big Band can’t stop winning. The group already has one Grammy win under their belt, and late last year we found out they were nominated for yet another. The jazz-pops orchestra got nominated for their album Orchestrator Emulator in the Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album category, and along with that, 8-Bit Big Band founder and musical director, Charlie Rosen, was nominated alongside co-arrangers Bryan Carter and Matthew Whitaker for “Super Mario Praise Break” up for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella.
Now with the latest edition of the Grammy’s behind us, we’re very happy to say that Super Mario Praise Break ended up winning in its category, earning the group a win for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella. Super Mario Praise Break is a killer medley of Mario tunes from various installments throughout the franchise, and you can hear the fantastic cover in the video above. (h/t VGC)
