Antony Starr isn’t exactly known for softness as Homelander on The Boys, but his new Instagram farewell hits like a superpowered punch right to the gut. In a long, Instagram post, he called the series “the highlight of my career,” and shouts out the Canadian crew, Amazon, Sony, and his “co-parent” in crafting the character, Showrunner Eric Kripke. “We created a monster, sir,” he noted.
Castmates chimed in fast: Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko) wrote, “What a f—ing time we had… miss it already,” Jessie T. Usher (A-Train) added, “You did a damn good job as Homelander,” and Erin Moriarty (Starlight) called working with him “a masterclass.” Starr’s sign-off was the emotional note The Boys fans have been dreading: “We cooked for the last time… Homelander, signing off.”

Where did we last leave Homelander in Season 4?
Season 4 ended with Homelander tightening his grip on the country. After publicly exposing Vice President-elect Victoria Neuman as a supe on live TV (and proving it with a heat-vision blast), chaos erupted. By episode’s end, both President-elect Robert Singer and Neuman were out, and martial law put every supe under Homelander’s command. His goal of becoming America’s strongman had come to fruition. The Boys scattered (or were captured) and Butcher seized the sole remaining vial of the supe-killing virus.
How will The Boys wrap Homelander’s story?
The final run of eight episodes has finished shooting and is slated for 2026. Expect the endgame to play out directly from that Season 4 power grab ending: Homelander ruling through fear and optics and The Boys trying to break his chokehold through whatever means possible—even if it means dying in the process.
Though The Boys will end, Prime Video’s universe will keep spinning with Gen V Season 2 and the 1950s prequel Vought Rising.
Starr’s note makes clear he knows what this character has meant both on screen and online. For four seasons, Homelander was the smile you couldn’t trust. Now, the actor behind him leaves fans with gratitude, and the promise that the last flight will be the wildest.
