The Cast of ‘Greek’ Then & Now: ‘This Was Our College’

In college, Greek life might be one of the most important things to elevate you on the social ladder, which is exactly why college freshman Rusty Cartwright is set on joining a fraternity. Determined to change from a geek to Greek, Rusty does what he can to become a cool frat guy. But with his sister, sorority queen Casey, uninterested in his new passions, it’s a little more difficult than he planned.

Greek ran for four seasons on ABC Family from 2007 until 2011 and gained a dedicated fanbase during its time. Get to know the cast of Greek and see what the stars have been up to since the show came to an end nearly 15 years ago!

Spencer Grammer as Casey Cartwright

Born: October 9, 1983, Los Angeles, California

Personal life: Married to James Hesketh from 2011-2017 and is mother to son Emmett Hesketh, born on October 10, 2011. Grammer is also daughter of Cheers and Frasier star, Kelsey Grammer

Best known for: As the World Turns (2006-2009), Rick and Morty (2013-2025), Roommate Wanted (2015) and Random Tropical Paradise (2017)

Thoughts on Greek: “I feel like that was really the opportunity that launched me into so many of the other opportunities that I’ve had,” Grammer said. “It was really the moment that I knew I could make a career of this crazy acting job. We also did the show for so many years. Honestly, we did 76 episodes, which is staggering.”

Jacob Zachar as Rusty Cartwright

Born: May 16, 1986, Chicago, Illinois

Personal life: Married to Brittany Saberhagen since 2019

Best known for: Surf’s Up (2007), Detention of the Dead (2012), Project: SERA (2013) and Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)

Thoughts on Greek: “My first thought in reading Rusty’s part was to be like a boy scout and bring a really honest character out,” Zachar said. “I have a lot of traditional values I follow personally, which was hard to deal with when I first moved to L.A. I went to an all-boys Catholic high school and was very reserved, so I wanted to bring that character [or characteristic?] out in Rusty.” 

Scott Michael Foster as Cappie

Born: March 4, 1985, Winfield, Illinois

Personal life: Engaged to Carson Fagerbakke since 2024

Best known for: Teenage Dirtbag (2009), The River (2012), Chasing Life (2014-2015) and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2017-2019)

Thoughts on Greek: “[Greek] was really about who you are between the ages of 18 and 22 and the growth that happens, the change that happens, the friendships that are built,” Foster explained. “It was more than just, you’re partying. That’s an easy trap to fall into. I think we just were smart enough to avoid that.”

Amber Stevens West as Ashleigh Howard

Born: October 7, 1986, Los Angeles, California

Personal life: Married to Andrew J. West since 2014 and mother to three daughters: Ava, Winona and Bernadette

Best known for: The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fired Up! (2009), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), 22 Jump Street (2014) and Run the World (2021-2023)

Thoughts on Greek: “It was really special because we were all growing up together,” Stevens West explained of the cast. “Half of us haven’t even really gone to college. That was our college experience. So, it got us all to be really close. For most of us, it was like our first big project and we are all still friends.” 

Jake McDorman as Evan Chambers

Born: July 8, 1986, Dallas, Texas

Best known for: Aquamarine (2006), Shameless (2013-2014), Lady Bird (2017), What We Do in the Shadows (2019-2020) and Mrs. Davis (2023)

Thoughts on Greek: “When he’d [his character] do things that were incredibly frustrating, disappointing or even adversarial for the characters that we love, they’d always put effort into explaining why maybe that happened, and it wasn’t as black and white,” McDorman shared. “That character lived more in the gray than I think he could have if we didn’t have such a good team writing the show.”

Clark Duke as Dale Kettlewell

Born: May 5, 1985, Glenwood, Arkansas

Best known for: Hearts Afire (1992-1995), Hot Tub Time Machine (2010), The Croods (2013), I’m Dying Up Here (2017-2018) and Inside Job (2021-2022)

Thoughts on Greek: “I thought it would be fun to play something really charactery. Something far removed from me,” Duke said of his character.

Dilshad Vadsaria as Rebecca Logan

Born: September 14, 1985, Karachi, Pakistan

Best known for: 30 Minutes or Less (2011), Revenge (2012-2013), Second Chance (2016) and Me (2024)

Thoughts on Greek: “I want to do something with Rebecca Logan again in Greek, like what she is doing now at this very moment,” Vadsaria said. “There was so much humor in that character. I’d love to do that again.”
