The cast of Celebrity Traitors season 2 has been officially confirmed, and it’s safe to say that it’s a really eclectic mix, combining rumoured names with some curveballs.
After the huge success of The Celebrity Traitors season 1, with its ridiculously brilliant moments, like Celia Imrie’s fart and Alan Carr somehow winning despite not being able to say “I’m a Faithful” without laughing, Claudia Winkleman is welcoming an even bigger cast for season 2.
They’ll all be playing for £100,000 for a charity of their choice, but who have the BBC signed up? Let’s find out.

- Maya Jama – Love Island host
- Michael Sheen – Good Omens actor known for playing real-life figures
- Miranda Hart – Call the Midwife and Miranda star
- Myha’la – They Will Kill You and Industry star
- Professor Hannah Fry– presenter and mathematician
- Richard E Grant – Saltburn and The Other Bennet Sister actor
- Rob Beckett – comedian and one half of Rob & Romesh Vs
- Romesh Ranganathan – see above
- Ross Kemp – Currently back as Grant Mitchell in EastEnders
- Sebastian Croft – Game of Thrones and Heartstopper actor
- Sharon Rooney – Two Doors Down and Barbie actor
Looking at this line-up, we’ve got a fair few comedians, who you’d think would be naturally good at the show due to their quick-thinking and being very likeable, but after Alan duped everyone last time, they might quickly fall under suspicion.
There’s also a handful of very clever people, like University Challenge host Amol Rajan and Professor Hannah Fry, who could easily be accused of being Traitors because they’d make good ones, such was the case for Faithful Stephen Fry in season one.
Of course, we have no idea how things will play out, which is the beauty of The Traitors, and whoever Claudia decides to pick.

One thing we do know is that the Secret Traitor twist won’t be repeated, with show boss Stephen Lambert stating: “[It was] different, but it wasn’t something we wanted to keep going with because it was a clever way of signalling we were doing something different, but I think the pleasure of the show is [that] the audience know who the Traitors are.”
Meanwhile, Michael Sheen will be taking over as the host of another major BBC competition show later this year. He will front House of Games which had, up until now, been hosted by Richard Osman (another heavily rumoured Celebrity Traitors contestant, although he’s ruled himself out for a pretty fair reason).
The Celebrity Traitors will return later this year. It does not have a specific release yet, but season 1 premiered in October last year. We are also still waiting for season 4 of The Traitors US, which features celebrities, to arrive on iPlayer in the UK.
