After being together on-and-off for nearly a decade, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry parted ways earlier this year, leaving their fans heartbroken. In a recent interview on TODAY, Bloom spoke about his relationship with Perry post-breakup.
Orlando Bloom says he and Katy Perry have ‘nothing but love’ for each other despite split
Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry first met at the Golden Globes afterparty in 2016. Since then, they’ve had a very public relationship. Although they were separated for a brief period, the pair got engaged in 2019. It was followed by the birth of their daughter, Daisy Dove, in August 2020.
While talking about his upcoming movie, The Cut, in an interview with Craig Melvin on TODAY, Bloom spoke about his relationship with Perry post-split early this year.
When Melvin asked how he’s doing after the breakup, The Lord of the Rings actor responded positively. “I’m great, man. I’m so grateful. We have the most beautiful daughter,” Bloom shared. “You know, when you leave everything on the field, like I did in this movie, I feel grateful for all of it. And we’re great. We’re going to be great. It’s nothing but love.”
On July 3, representatives for both Bloom and Perry confirmed the breakup via a statement to TODAY.com.
“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” the statement read. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
While the two have separated, they continue to co-parent their daughter. Bloom also has a son, Flynn, with his ex-wife, Miranda Kerr. In a recent podcast, The Kyle & Jackie O Show, Kerr shared that she’s on good terms with the two and recently celebrated Daisy’s birthday. She said, “We’re one big, happy family.”
