Before anything else, The Daniels have announced the release date of their next feature film. The movie is set to release on November 19, 2027, and has virtually no details released about it so far. All fans know is that the directors will remain the same and that the film will be produced by Universal Pictures. Although this is not a lot to go off of, fans are excited nonetheless, given the success of The Daniels’ two previous films. Both Swiss Army Man and Everything Everywhere All at Once were critically acclaimed and called creative masterpieces.
While The Daniels’ directorial debut, Swiss Army Man, wasn’t as big a hit, many cite the film’s absurdist gross-out comedy as the reason. In the movie, Paul Dano’s character, Hank Thompson, finds an interesting corpse named Manny, who is played by Daniel Radcliffe. Hank uses Manny in a plethora of absurd ways to get out of many different survival situations. However, Hank quickly realizes that Manny might not actually be a corpse. Although the film was considered off-putting by some, some consider this one of the most underrated comedies of the decade.
Everything Everywhere All at Once is currently considered the pinnacle of The Daniels’ movies. The film won seven Oscars and is widely considered the best film of 2022. Both Michelle Yeo and Ke Huy Quan’s performances were nothing short of breathtaking, but the cinematography simply cannot be understated. This film was an absolutely incredible watch, and anyone who hasn’t seen it should stop robbing themselves of one of the greatest films of the last decade.
Based on their reputation alone, many fans are extremely excited for the coming film. It is currently two years away from release, but many fans have claimed to have already marked the date in their calendar. Given The Daniels’ already wide coverage, there is no telling what they could choose to create next. Nevertheless, fans are waiting in anticipation.
Overall, this next film could become one of the most anticipated movies of the next two years. Despite being more than two years away, many fans have already marked their calendars. This ultimately isn’t surprising given The Daniels’ absolutely incredible previous films. Although this level of hype can be off-putting for some directors, The Daniels wouldn’t have announced the release date unless they believed in the film.
