Country singer-songwriter Zach Bryan teased an unreleased new song that takes aim at President Donald Trump‘s ICE raids.

The largely apolitical artist, 29, shared snippets from a track, believed to be titled “Bad News,” on Instagram that lamented the “fading of the red, white, and blue” as immigration raids continue across the country, including the most recent “military-style” raid at a Chicago apartment building that included the detainment of children.

In one verse, Bryan pointedly sings: “And ICE is gonna come bust down your door / Try to build a house no one builds no more / But I got a telephone.”

He continues, “Kids are all scared and all alone / The Boss stopped bumping, the rock stopped rolling / The middle fingers rising and it won’t stop showing / I got some bad news / The fading of the red, white, and blue.”

Reps for the country star didn’t immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly’s request for comment about the unreleased track.

Bryan disabled comments on the post, likely knowing that it could be divisive among country fans. The snippet has already ruffled the feathers of country singer John Rich, who wrote on social media: “Who’s ready for the Zach Bryan Dixie Chicks tour?”

Now known as just The Chicks, the Grammy-winning country girl group was famously ostracized by the country fanbase in the early 2000s after lead singer Natalie Maines criticized then President George W. Bush and the Iraq War. At a time when country artists were largely apolitical, the group was blacklisted by country radio stations and even faced death threats.

Rich then added, “Prob a huge Bud Light sponsorship for this one.”

Rich appears to be referencing the conservative uproar over Bud Light’s partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney in 2023, which Bryan defended after country stars like Travis Tritt called for a boycott of the beer brand. “I just think insulting transgender people is completely wrong because we live in a country where we can all just be who we want to be,” Bryan wrote at the time.

Bryan most recently wrapped his Quittin Time Tour at the end of last year in support of his fourth and fifth studio albums, 2023’s Zach Bryan and 2024’s The Great American Bar Scene. The Grammy winner also dropped a live record from the tour, which features collaborations with Kacey Musgraves, The War and Treaty, Maggie Rogers, and John Mayer.
