The Last Dinner Party – ‘Let’s Do It Again!’

The Last Dinner Party have released their new song, ‘Let’s Do It Again!’, taken from the upcoming Help (2) album for War Child.

The single comes as the third effort to be taken from the upcoming collaborative charity album to help children trapped in conflict zones, produced by James Ford set to be released on March 6th.

Arctic Monkeys previously became the headline name from the record, releasing their comeback single ‘Opening Night’ in aid of the War Child campaign. They were later joined by Damon Albarn, Grain Chatten, and Kae Tempest, who revealed their song, ‘Flags’, last week.

Now it is the turn for The Last Dinner Party to premiere their effort, with ‘Let’s Do It Again!’ becoming their first new music since the release of their second album, From the Pyre, in October last year.

In a statement accompanying the release of the single, the band said: “It’s such an honour to be included on this record for a cause that is so close to our hearts. The song is about the endless carousel of being in a relationship you know you shouldn’t be in, but giving in to the inexorable tug of returning every time you leave.”

They added: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to War Child for asking us to be a part of the project and to James Ford for producing us, it was such a joy to work with him again!”

‘Let’s Do It Again!’ presents The Last Dinner Party with an air of their usual regal flair, but the rompy, riotous affair that builds to the song’s crescendo is one of the band’s most exciting and exhilarating efforts from throughout their catalogue so far.

The lyrics may represent simple sentiments and hallmarks of heartbreak, but the growing and lavish sonics give the whole effect of an air of petulance and naivety, injecting a dose of indulgent fun into the track.

Help (2), being released on March 6th, has been created in aid of War Child, with other artistic contributions including the likes of Cameron Winter, Ezra Collective, Pulp, and Wet Leg.
