Apple TV+ has canceled the thriller series after one season, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Jason Clarke starred as Frank Remnick, the lone U.S. marshal in charge of the barrens of Alaska who comes across conflict when a prison transport plane crashes, and a plethora of inmates are set free.
“Tasked with protecting the town he’s vowed to keep safe, [Remnick] begins to suspect the crash wasn’t an accident, but the first step of a well-crafted plan with far-reaching and devastating implications,” reads the logline for the series.
In The Hollywood Reporter‘s review of the series, Daniel Fienberg wrote that “in a television landscape absolutely parched for escapism, The Last Frontier sounds like a recipe for fun.”
