Toyota revives Scion as an off-road-focused experimental brand

Toyota is bringing back the Scion name, but not in the way fans might expect.

Instead of street cars, Scion is returning as an off-road and mobility-focused brand, and the revival kicks off with the Scion 01 concept, a rugged side-by-side designed as a rolling testbed for new ideas and powertrains.

Toyota says Scion will be used to experiment freely, without the constraints of traditional production models.

Nissan finally gives the Z NISMO a proper six-speed manual

Nissan has confirmed that the Z NISMO will finally be offered with a six-speed manual transmission.

The high-performance version of the twin-turbo Z previously came only with an automatic, frustrating car purists.

The manual version is expected to arrive in 2027, pairing the 420hp V6 engine with a more exciting driving experience that many fans felt was missing.

GM adds Apple Music but still refuses to bring back CarPlay

General Motors is rolling out Apple Music support in newer vehicles, including many of its EVs.

The move is meant to compensate for GM’s decision to drop Apple CarPlay and Android Auto from its infotainment systems.

Apple Music will be built directly into GM’s software platform, with free access bundled for several years before a subscription is required.

For many drivers, however, the lack of full smartphone integration remains a sore spot.
