- A new report claims Taylor Swift is prepping a return to theaters tied to The Life of a Showgirl.
- Sources say the project will drop on the same day as the album, October 3.
- There’s speculation that AMC theaters could be involved with the release.
Taylor Swift’s twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, is set to drop on October 3, and it looks like she’s also (prepare to scream) making a return to theaters. Potentially on the same day?!
The Hollywood Reporter spoke to multiple sources who said Taylor is “prepping to return to theaters” with an event (a movie? a documentary?!) “tied to The Life of a Showgirl.” Multiple sources also tell the outlet that this mysterious theatrical release will “also drop that weekend.”
There’s speculation that the release could be similar to Disney+’s Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions documentary, which Taylor directed herself. But it’s also possible that she worked with a director, like she did with The Eras Tour movie—which is the top grossing concert film of all time.
As for where you can go see Taylor’s new project, there’s speculation that she once again teamed up with AMC, though they stayed silent when approached for comment by The Hollywood Reporter.
As a reminder, the tracklist for The Life of a Showgirl includes:
“The Fate of Ophelia”
“Elizabeth Taylor”
“Opalite”
“Father Figure”
“Eldest Daughter”
“Ruin the Friendship”
“Actually Romantic”
“Wi$h Li$t”
“Wood”
“CANCELLED!”
“Honey”
“The Life of a Showgirl (ft. Sabrina Carpenter)”
