The Princess of Wales has shared some of her most emotional
photos yet as she reflected on a major achievement.
A week on from completing the Three Peaks Challenge, one of the
most arduous hiking expeditions in the UK, Kate took to social
media to reveal the family snaps as she finished her challenge.
The first to congratulate her was the Prince of Wales who was
waiting for his wife as she ended her epic hike and congratulated
her with a hug.
In a series of sweet snaps shared with the line ”This time last
week”, the Princess was seen being welcomed to the finish line by
her three children.
In one snap, her two boys, George and Louis, were vying for
mum’s attention as they greeted her.
And the photos proved what was suspected a short while ago when
Prince George, 12, was seen with the Princess of Wales marking
Armed Forces Day. George is juts about as tall as his mum with a
whisper of a centimetre separating them as he approaches his
thirteenth birthday.
Princess Charlotte, 11, seemed overcome with happiness to greet
her mother as the hike finished and Kate is seen giving her
daughter a huge hug in one image.
It was also confirmed that the Princess of Wales was joined on
the Three Peaks Challenge by her younger brother, James
Middleton.
In a final photo to mark the challenge, William and Kate are
seen with Carole and Michael Middleton who look very proud of the
achievement of their daughter and son.
James Middleton also took to social media to talk about the
special experience he had just shared with his sister. He wrote
”I’m so incredibly proud of my darling sister” and added a photo of
the two of them hugging as the completed the challenge.
James added ”We talked about climbing mountains while you were
in hospital, and about the incredible healing power that nature can
have for both the body and the mind. So it was such ah honour to
join you for your Three Peaks Challenge for the Royal Marsden
Cancer Charity. Seeing how far you’ve come is nothing short of
inspiring.”
Kate said after completing the challenge that she wanted to do
it for the Royal Marsden and because she was so glad that she as
still able to do it.
The Princess of Wales was treated at the Royal Marsden when
cancer was found following abdominal surgery in the early part of
2024. She underwent preventative chemotherapy and later announced
she was in remission.
The Three Peaks Challenge, in which hikers climb the highest
peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in 24 hours, was completed by
the Princess in secrecy with her participation announced once she
had finished.
She is the first member of the Royal Family to complete the
challenge.
