In a conversation with ScreenRant, lead actor Glen Powell revealed that he showed the finished film to Schwarzenegger, who was both impressed and enthusiastic about the result. According to Powell, the legendary star felt that the new film captured the King’s original work accurately.
Talking about Schwarzenegger, the Anyone But You star said, “He was so excited that the Stephen King book we put on screen – it’s really the first time Stephen’s vision has been properly adapted. He just kept saying, ‘It’s incredible.’”
Powell also spoke about the physically demanding nature of the production, describing it as one of the toughest projects he has worked on. He added that Schwarzenegger understood the physical toll of such performances.
Powell said, “He loved it – freaked out, was so excited. But the first thing he told me, he goes, ‘This was a very painful movie for you.’ He’s shot so many action movies, and he knows what it takes to throw yourself around.”
The Top Gun: Maverick star further went on to discuss how audiences often overlook the difficulty of performing practical stunts. He said that Schwarzenegger immediately recognized the toll such intense action takes on the body. “He’s like, ‘One of the hardest action movies – those are just not easy things to get right.’”
The film is slated for theatrical release on November 14, 2025.
