King Charles III is poised to mark his birthday with a heartwarming surprise arranged by his grandchildren, according to a former Royal butler.
The monarch celebrates his 77th birthday today, Friday, though he observed his official birthday in June with the Trooping the Colour ceremony and the customary RAF flyover.
Former Royal butler Grant Harrold reveals that the Prince and Princess of Wales’s three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – are anticipated to present their grandfather with a “special present” alongside handcrafted birthday cards.
He explained: “Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will definitely have a special present for their Grandpa. I think they might make him homemade cards as well, which all grandparents love to receive.
“Kate and William love doing arts and crafts with the children, so I expect they will make something extra special. We’ve seen previous examples of them making Mother’s Day cards for Kate, so I think homemade cards are a big part of royal birthdays now.”, reports The Mirror.
In 2023, King Charles also received a “meaningful” birthday gift from his younger grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who reside in California with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
According to The Telegraph, Archie and Lilibet created a special video message singing “Happy Birthday” to their grandfather for his 75th birthday.
King Charles has a history of exchanging birthday presents with his grandchildren, both giving and receiving them.
During one memorable occasion, Prince George was presented with an exceptional gift valued at £18,000 from his grandfather.
The future king received an elaborate Wendy house for his first birthday celebration, designed for playtime at the monarch’s residence. The structure continues to occupy a spot in the gardens of King Charles’s Highgrove estate.

While visiting the National Federation of Women’s Institutes in London this past September, the Royal couple engaged in conversations with WI members who inquired about their kids.
The Princess revealed that she and her children – Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 – dedicated their summer to “crafting in every corner of the house.”
