Netflix stars Chanel Watkins and Micah Hardeman are engaged!
After leaving season 3 of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On about a year ago, the couple announced their engagement in a joint post on Instagram on Monday, Sept. 15, with Watkins writing, “I SAID YES!!!! 💍♥️.”
Watkins and Hardeman shared several photos and a video from their surprise waterfront proposal in Dumbo, a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Overlooking the twinkling Manhattan skyline at night, Hardeman dropped down on one knee and popped the question to Watkins. The pair were enclosed by candles and red roses forming a heart shape.

In one shot, the bride-to-be showed off her sparkling diamond ring over a large bouquet of red roses wrapped with a ribbon that read, “Will You Marry Me?”
Several Netflix reality TV show stars shared their congratulations in the comments section.
Love Is Blind alum Lydia Arleen commented, “Congratulations Gorgeous! ❤️❤️😍😍❤️❤️,” while Temptation Island‘s Shanté Glover wrote, “Oh my goodness congrats beautiful!!🥰❤️ so happy for you!!!”
“YESSSSS CONGRATS YOU TWO!!!! We love you 😍😍😍,” added Vanessa Hattaway, who left the third season of The Ultimatum with Dave Adams early in episode 4, the same time Watkins and Hardeman made their departure.
In season 3 of The Ultimatum, Hattaway issued Adams an ultimatum while Watkins issued Hardeman an ultimatum. But after selecting their trial marriage partners during The Choice and moving in together, the group of four left the show prematurely.
Producers revealed that the group “secretly met off camera” earlier that day but “that evening, surveillance cameras captured them packing.” The screen then read, “Dave, Vanessa, Micah and Chanel quickly departed, abruptly ending their experience.”
Their early exit left two individuals alone in the trial marriages: Nick Tramontin, who had been paired with Hattaway, and Mariah Zernik, who was paired with Hardeman. Adams had been in a trial marriage with Watkins.

After the season premiered in December 2024, Watkins and Hardeman reassured fans that they were still together by sharing Instagram posts of their date nights together.
Later that month, Watkins opened up about her decision to leave the show.
“There were certain situations, conversations, things that we were prompted to do that made me feel really uncomfortable,” she explained in a TikTok video posted on Dec. 18, 2024. “And it wasn’t until I finally voiced that I was leaving the experience that I was told that they were all optional.”
She continued, “At the end of the day, I just could not sit with myself because I just felt like it wasn’t me. After a while, I was just like, ‘Man, some of these things are gonna be edited, misconstrued and just swished around to seem like something that they’re not.’ ”
