NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Taylor Borton, a Hubbard, Ohio, native and Nashville-based country singer and songwriter, has released a new single, “Between You and Me.”
The song was written by Borton, Karree Phillips and Mary Zalla. It was recorded and produced at WarnerWorks in Old Hickory. Leaning into the traditional country and Americana styles, it captures the quiet moments between romance and heartbreak.
Influenced by artists such as John Prine, Loretta Lynn, Brandy Clark and Lori McKenna, Borton brings a classic songwriting approach into a modern context. She’s often described as an “old soul” with a youthful, charismatic spirit.
Borton moved to Nashville in 2019 to pursue a music career. She graduated from The Blackbird Academy with a degree in audio engineering.
She has already released an EP, “Lyrics In My Head,” and several singles, including “Glove Box Lighter,” “My Opry” and “Lovin’ When It’s Leavin’.”
Her new song is the first of several she will release.

New Play, Variety Show Coming to Theater
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A new play and a variety-comedy show will come to the Playhouse Downtown theater, 220 W. Boardman St., in August.
The play, “A Woman Known,” written by J. Rian Davis and Rachel Clifford, will be performed at 8 p.m. Aug. 1. Davis directs the play.
The story takes place in Rome in 1611.
It’s a time of rebellion and change in the art world. At the center, a young Artemisia Gentileschi, played by Clifford, creates masterpieces from tales of heroines, faces her own story of violence and injustice in a patriarchal world and challenges the establishment to become one of the greatest painters of all time.
This performance is a one-night preview of this solo play and will be accompanied by an exhibition and celebration of local women artists. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local rape crisis centers.
Tickets will go on sale June 12 at YoungstownPlayhouse.org and the DeYor Performing Arts Center box office.
“Bang Bang: The Ultimate Variety Show” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 22.
The show, presented by Ingrid Ullrich, features comedy, choreography and vocals in a way that blends the glitz of Las Vegas and the intimacy of cabaret.
Tickets will go on sale May 22.
