The Voice season 29 is airing new episodes on Mondays on NBC.
Fans learned that original coach CeeLo Green will return to The Voice in a brand-new role.
CeeLo was a coach on The Voice for seasons 1-3, before taking a hiatus and returning for season 5.
The Voice is switching things up for season 29—and bringing back an OG coach to help.
New episodes drop every Monday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, and fans are ecstatic to see Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend search for the best artists in the country. The new season is called The Voice: Battle of Champions, and each coach is trying to establish themselves as the best in the series’ history.
While the Blind Auditions are airing, NBC shared a promo on Instagram on February 23 detailing what fans can expect from the new season. While the clip showcased new rules implemented just for this installment, it turns out Kelly, Adam, and John aren’t the only famous faces folks will see.
As the snippet revealed, viewers will get reacquainted with original coach CeeLo Green. He’s joining The Voice in a brand-new role and will help judge the “All-Star Showdown.”
“I felt like I had one of the best seats in the house,” he stated in the promo.
As soon as fans realized that CeeLo would be making his grand return to The Voice, they were immediately hyped about it.
“@ceelogreen 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” one person wrote in the comments. “So excited,” another agreed. “Ooh cee lo! My favorite!” a different follower added.
Now, fans may remember that CeeLo was one of the four coaches who appeared in the show’s first few seasons. He was a mentor from season 1 through season 3, took a small hiatus, and then returned for season 5. Additionally, he has appeared on The Voice over the years as an Advisor in various stages of the competition, per NBC Insider.
Well, we’re shocked by all of this, and we can’t wait to welcome CeeLo back home to The Voice!
